Since our Berlin show I've been thinking about alternative ways to approach my 2D relief drawings. This week is all about simplifying.

'tea leaf'

I'm collaborating with the talented Rebecca Maeve Manley on a window display for Fred Aldous, in Manchester's Northern Quarter, which is part of the Free For Arts Festival 2010. She's an inspired designer|art director and great influence on me... so much so that I've stolen her favoured mirror image trick to play around with some samples in my studio at The Grange. (sorry Rebecca)

Check out our 'Something and Nothing and Everything' window display from 1-8 October 2010

You can see our profile and more information about Something and Nothing and Everything on the Free For Arts Festival website.

!space battle!

On June 29th I ran my first ever workshop with help from staff and 6th form students at Grange School. About 20 students from Wallerscote and Weaverham Forest primary schools came along to The Grange for the one day workshop during which they made and decorated their own space ships and star-scape backdrop pieces.

All the separate pieces were assembled into an epic space battle, complete with a few unlucky casualties.

Residing at Grange School

Here's some shots of my new studio. I've just started at the Grange School in Cheshire as their first ever resident artist.
Still in the process of getting settled in, but soon I should be posting a lot more often with new work.
Stay tuned!
